This project focused on developing a cause-driven brand and advocacy campaign. The objective was to create a cohesive visual identity for an organization addressing a social issue, supported by a range of deliverables including a logo system, style guide, and campaign applications such as print and digital media. The project emphasized translating complex ideas into clear, effective visual communication while considering audience, tone, and impact. Each design decision—typography, color, and composition—was used to reinforce the organization’s mission and communicate its message across multiple platforms.

Project Description

Balance is a mental health advocacy brand centered on accessibility and emotional support. It offers 24/7 therapy—both online and in person—alongside mindfulness-based resources and guidance for individuals navigating difficult moments. The project translates advocacy into design by using clear, intentional visuals to communicate care, urgency, and accessibility. Every element—from typography to color—works to make mental health support feel visible, approachable, and immediate.

To me, advocacy is turning care into action. As a designer, that means translating complex issues into clear, impactful visuals that inform and empower. Advocacy-driven design is not just about aesthetics—it carries responsibility, shaping how people understand and engage with critical issues.

Balance is rooted in a personal experience. After my grandmother passed, my great-grandmother became a central figure in my life. Following a stroke that left her paralyzed and unable to speak, she received medical care but lacked access to emotional support and therapy.

Her experience revealed a gap in care: when people need mental health support most, it isn’t always accessible. Balance responds to this by imagining a system where anyone can talk to someone—anytime, anywhere.
